Human Resources and Risk Manager
The Position: TSD is seeking a highly qualified individual to join its management team in the position of Human Resources and Risk Manager. The ideal candidate will be an experienced HR professional motivated to help strategically plan and lead the District’s employee engagement, succession planning, and professional development programs to support and enhance a workplace of excellence. Truckee Sanitary District Truckee Sanitary District (TSD) is an award-winning public agency responsible for the collection and conveyance of wastewater for the mountain community of Truckee, California, located 15 minutes from Lake Tahoe. Since 1906, TSD employees have been committed to providing outstanding service to accomplish the District’s mission of protecting public health and the environment.
The Human Resources & Risk Manager is responsible for the day-to-day management and administration of the following programs:
- Recruitments
- New Employee Orientation
- Employee Training and Performance Management
- Employee Handbook and Policies
- Employee Relations, Workplace Investigations, and Legal Issues
- Classification and Compensation
- Employee Benefits, including Pension, Medical, Dental, COBRA, and HRAs
- Workplace Safety
- Worker Compensation Insurance
- General Liability and Property Insurance
Qualifications:
- Equivalent to Bachelor’s degree in human resources management, business or public administration, or related field
- Three years of human resource administration experience
- Certification as a Professional issued by the Society for Human Resources Management (SHRM-CP) or Professional in Human Resources issued by the HR Certification Institute (PHR)

WORK SCHEDULE: Monday – Thursday, 7:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. (1/2 hour lunch) Every other Friday,
7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. (1/2 hour lunch)
